His practice is concentrated in the area of criminal defense cases in Federal and State Courts with a focus on federal criminal defense, personal injury, civil litigation and a special emphasis in defending citizens accused of operating a vehicle while intoxicated. Mr. Arata is the Chairman of the Criminal Defense Attorneys section of the allen county Bar Association, a "Sustaining member" of the National College for DUI Defense, a "Life" member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys. He is also a "Master" with and former "President" of the American Inns of Court, Benjamin Harrison Chapter. Mr. Arata is certified as an "Instructor" in Standardized Field Sobriety Testing, certified in the operation of the Intoxilizer 5000, and has completed training using the BAC DataMaster as well as blood and urine testing. Mr. Arata routinely volunteers his services as an instructor and has spoken at legal seminars in various venues on subjects including Trial Practice, Jury Trial rules, DUI/OWI Defense, Child Molestation Allegations, and the Federal Sentencing Guidelines. He is a founding member and has been chairman of the criminal defense attorneys section of the Allen County Bar Association for many years. He has also earned the distinguished "AV" Martindale-Hubbell for the practice of law with the highest level of ethics and skill. Albert Anzini, III has practiced law for sixteen years. He is admitted to practice law in the states of Indiana and Virginia. He has also been admitted to practice before the Federal District Courts for the Northern District of Indiana and the Eastern District of Virginia. His practice is concentrated in the area of criminal defense with a focus on DUI/OWI defense, drug dealing and possession cases, and plaintiff injury cases. Mr. Anzini is a graduate of the Marshall-Wythe School of Law at the College of William & Mary. He is a member of the Allen County Bar Association, the Indiana Bar Association, a former Barrister in the Benjamin Harrison Chapter of the American Inns of Court and a member of the National College for DUI Defense. Mr. Anzini serves on the Board of Directors for the Stop Addiction Foundation and is a volunteer for the Catie B. Foundation. Mr. Anzini is qualified in Standardized Field Sobriety Testing and is a graduate of the National Advocacy Center. Mr. Anzini is a decorated Veteran whose military awards include the Meritorious Service Medal and the Army Commendation Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters. He served eight years in the U.S. Army JAG Corps and zealously defended soldiers facing court-martial, non-judicial punishment and administrative sanctions throughout Europe and the U.S. Mr. Anzini is a graduate of the Army's Combined Arms Services Staff School and the 32nd AADCOM Noncommissioned Officer's Academy. Mr. Anzini has practiced law as a Senior Military Defense Counsel, Military Trial Counsel, Legal Assistance Attorney, Special Assistant, U.S. Attorney, and an Allen County Deputy Prosecuting Attorney holding the position Chief of the Narcotics and Asset Forfeiture Unit.
David M. Zent is an Indiana native. He is admitted to practice law in the State of Indiana. His practice is concentrated in the area of personal injury and criminal defense with a focus on DUI/OWI defense, drugs, narcotics, and domestic battery. Mr. Zent is an Indiana University graduate and attended Law School at the University of Dayton. He is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association, the Allen County Bar Association, the National College for DUI Defense, and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Mr. Zent is a former Allen County Deputy Prosecuting Attorney and was trained in Trial Advocacy by the National District Attorneys Association. Mr. Zent is qualified in Standardized Field Sobriety Testing and Completed the Trial Practice Institute sponsored by the Indiana Public Defender Council.
Mr. Joley is a member of the National College for DUI Defense, the National Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys, Indiana Trial Lawyers Association, American Inns of Court, Benjamin Harrison Chapter, as well as a member of the American, Indiana, and Allen County Bar Associations. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, and graduated from the University of Dayton, School of Law. He is qualified in the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, and has completed the trial advocacy training at the Trial Practice Institute sponsored by the Indiana Public Defender Council. Our support staff Sue is our office manager. She has been with the firm for over twenty years and handles all of the accounting functions. She handles all the day to day functions. Jackie has obtained her Associates Degree in Paralegal Technologies from Tri-State University and her Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from Tri-State University. She has completed the InData Trial Director 5 Certified Trainer Program and has received a Criminal Defense Investigation Certificate. She has also attended many seminars that have proven beneficial to her job. Prior to her employment with the Arata Law Firm, Jackie was a paralegal with the Allen County Prosecutor's Office for approximately three years. She began in the Child Support Division and worked her way through the Superior Court felony Division, the Misdemeanor Division and ended in the Circuit Court Felony Division which handled all of the felony OWI cases. Shari is an assistant in our firm. She was in the banking industry before joining our firm. She spent over fourteen years in collection and recovery of assets. She is continuing her education with classes at Indiana Business College. Christi graduated from Columbia City High School and is an assistant for our firm. She has six years experience working for the Allen County Prosecutor's office, including work on drug cases and forfeitures. She has experience working with the Drug Court Intervention Program. She has work in collection law. Laura is an assistant in the firm and the receptionist. She previously worked for Allen Superior Court in the Misdemeanor and Traffic division for 9 years as a clerk specializing in operating while intoxicated (OWI) cases . She also has experience in the Prosecutors office and child support division. All of our staff are familiar with the legal system and the people who work in it.
